charic
Are there any brands/models worth looking at for wider string spacing? I've played a few in the past I've felt much more comfortable with but I have no idea what they were anymore!
darkandrew
It depends what you're comparing against, I suppose. For example, a Fender will generally have wider spacing than a Gibson. I have both Fender guitars (Tele Custom and a Showmaster) and Gibson L.P. style guitars (ESP Eclipses), and the wider spacing and longer scale on the Fenders despite being quite small on paper is actually quite noticeable. bigsmokebass
I'm pretty sure the PRS Santana (Se) line has a wider string spacing. At least the models I tried a few years back did at least.
charic
They may be worth a look then
adamg67
I think some of the Ibanez thin neck shredder style guitars are a bit wider even than a Fender. Might be worth looking at some of their "nicer" models, they do a big range. Plenty of choice second hand if you know what you're looking for, and the website has specs including all the dimensions. http://www.ibanez.com/products/eg_top18.php?area_id=3&year=2018&cat_id=
adamg67
Also, if you fancy something slightly different, try one of these: http://www.ibanez.com/products/eg_detail18.php?year=2018&area_id=3&cat_id=1&series_id=1&data_id=337&color=CL01 Longer scale and wider neck, and the EMG pickups are pretty flexible, so it's actually pretty good for lots of styles. You can pick them up for £200 - 300, I think mine was £260 IIRC, in mint nick.
