frustrated guitarist Posted February 13 Posted February 13 So ive learnt basic chords, barre chords and some simple strumming patterns. I can easily play any song i want to play after training a little but i want to become more than that. I've always felt that even though i can play a lot on my classical guitar i still cant play like an advanced player. To be honest there is this musician from 80s and 90s in my home country that i would like to learn songs. Problem is that he plays some advanced apreggios and he really is a great guitarist. Can you recommend me some advanced techniques i could learn? Maybe after learning some hard techniques i could gain more insight about playing. I want to learn advanced stuff because i have already learnt the basics. Quote

You've not given your location, so I don't know just how easy it is to find a competent guitar tutor near you. That's the most efficient (and cost-effective, really...) way to get oneself on the right track. OK, it's not always possible or easy. There are some very good on-line tutors, in many styles; I can recommend Sandra Sherman's YouTube channel... https://www.youtube.com/@GuitarversumSandraSherman ... where one will find plenty of videos, in plenty of styles, that are well worth a look, and the course material she proposes is high quality. Worth a look..? Let us know what this inspires and see where we go from there..? Hope this helps. Tempted by Hybrid picking..? ... or a chord-melody rendering of 'Smile' (Yes, you have heard it before, and it's very easy on the ear...)... Edited February 13 by Dad3353 Quote
