dewayne Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I've never studied music other than deciphering what Robert fripp is describing when talking music during interviews and wondering is it frowned upon to say for example D# instead of Eb or G# over Ab.

I don't know much about music, but I believe there are reasons for D# instead of Eb and vice versa but I'm not sure what they are. Possibly something to do with the instrument being played or the key the song is in.

Only 'frowned upon' when out of context; both are correct in the right place. There's a lot of useful explanation, easy enough to assimilate, here... Reddit : Is Eb the same as D#..? ... Hope this helps. Edited February 7 by Dad3353 1
