Eric R. Posted Monday at 13:33 Posted Monday at 13:33 I know that there are several good blogs and online videos about the history and evolution of the electric guitar and its sound, but I wonder if anyone can recommend a good book about it. I am specifically interested in a book (or book section) that addresses the role of distortion/overdrive in the sound of the modern electric guitar. As something that started out as an undesirable side effect of electronic amplification, but then quickly evolved into what is arguably an integral part of 'the' sound of the electric guitar, I find distortion a fascinating study in the nature of creativity and innovation. And since I always prefer offline and analogue media to web sources, perhaps somebody has a good old-fashioned book they can recommend. :-) Quote
