difficulties with songs

What’s the most challenging song you’ve learned, and how did you overcome the difficulties?

'Misty'. Still learning it, over half a century later, and still striving to overcome its difficulties, exacerbated by increasing memory issues.

SRV by Eric Johnson. Took a me ages to get the main parts down and I don’t have the chops to nail the main solo. Still revisit it occasionally, which then becomes also a feat of memory, as alluded to by @Dad3353.

Ghost Town by The Specials.  I downloaded tab but the chords sounded all wrong to me, based on the chord windows shown. So I worked them out myself, then found that what I’d worked out were different voicings of the (quite compex) chords shown on the tab.  I was well pleased, but I wouldn’t normally consider myself skilled enough to do that

If you have a bunch of CD's, this device can let you slow down the music with out affecting the pitch and you can add a footswitch to backup the song , 5 seconds maximum to go over and over, until you get it right.
