k.chernyavska Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 What’s the most challenging song you’ve learned, and how did you overcome the difficulties? Quote
Dad3353 Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 'Misty'. Still learning it, over half a century later, and still striving to overcome its difficulties, exacerbated by increasing memory issues. 1 Quote
ezbass Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 SRV by Eric Johnson. Took a me ages to get the main parts down and I don’t have the chops to nail the main solo. Still revisit it occasionally, which then becomes also a feat of memory, as alluded to by @Dad3353. 2 Quote
Screaming Dave Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Ghost Town by The Specials. I downloaded tab but the chords sounded all wrong to me, based on the chord windows shown. So I worked them out myself, then found that what I’d worked out were different voicings of the (quite compex) chords shown on the tab. I was well pleased, but I wouldn’t normally consider myself skilled enough to do that Quote
Diary Of An Axeman Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) Big Trouble from Steve Vai, when he was David Lee Roth's guitarist. If you have a bunch of CD's, this device can let you slow down the music with out affecting the pitch and you can add a footswitch to backup the song , 5 seconds maximum to go over and over, until you get it right.
