Dood
My guitarist has a 2017 Am Standard Strat, Maple fretboard. It sounds absolutely beautiful. Having done much (a little) research, it features the Fat 50's pickups. I'm trying to find out how many years the AmStd had these pickups (and thus I have more of a chance of just buying one of these Strats, rather than getting the pickups separately as the whole guitar is really nice!) Anyone know how I can find out? And dear lord if there is a Candy Apple Red version out there, please hide my credit card....
ezbass
It looks like they were introduced in 2012. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/fender-custom-shop-fat-50s-pickups.1132302/ It looks like the 2011 had ‘Hot American’ or ‘Tex Mex’ p/ups. You diamond! Great, I have a bit more breadth to my search now! The Tex pickups are nicer than the current pickups I think but the fat 50's do sound delicious. CHEERS!!
