Pbassred Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 My wife wants to buy me something. I don't particularly want anything (it gets in the way of my ambition to be a minimalist one day), but she feels left out if she doesn't. So: New gold Grover machine heads for my Casino. Just like Lennon, OR NUX NGS-6 amp academy box, so I can go ampless and feed my tone out to a PA rig. A cheap tele - because everyone should have one and no one makes unplayable guitars anymore.
Musical Mystery Tour Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 (edited) Better tuners are always a worthwhile mod to any guitar if the ones it has on it are naff, but, if the ones on it already are okay, then it is a fairly pointless endeavour. If you don't have a Telecaster though, that needs to be remedied immediately, and even the cheap knock off ones are okay these days, even the cheap-ss Donner DTC-100 is actually not bad. murphybridget Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Ultimately, the best choice depends on your personal preferences and how you envision using the gift. If you're drawn to the idea of enhancing your current setup with new gear or exploring new possibilities with an ampless setup or a different guitar, any of these options could be a great fit. It's also worth considering the sentimental value and enjoyment that each option could bring.
