RHB123
I've just brought a Epiphone Joe Pass emperor 11, off a well known internet shop with a decent reputation. However as its about 10 years plus old, it has no manual. Could any kind person take a few minutes to explain exactly what all the switches and knobs do, the sounds and if possible an owner could suggest some set ups they use. It has two pick ups, and I guess the middle switch would make both work, but thats guess work. Thanks and again sorry its such a simple question for people in the know. Richard. randythoades
Yes, just like that video. Each pickup had a volume and tone knob so that you can set them differently and the swicth does exactly as you say, upwards is for neck pickup, middle activates both so you can have a blended sound, and downwards activates just the bridge pickup. Dad3353
The knobs closest to the neck are the volume controls for each pickup, the lower two are the tone controls. Try all the combinations of pickup/tone to see which best suit the song or style you're playing. Typically, the neck pick-up on its own will give a smoother, more 'soft jazz' tone, the bridge pick-up alone will be sharper, with more 'bite'; a combination is easily 'dialled in' by messing about with all of the controls. There are no rules; just listen with your own ears and create the sound you want. Hope this helps. Douglas
