drlargepants
I’m trying reassemble an emg 81/85 set that was sitting in a box with a bunch of quick connect cables, selector switches etc Having started with the bare minimum of a battery, pickup, and jack and moved forwards I’ve proved the pickups work so all good there. I’m at the stage where I have two pickups, a volume control and selector switch. Selector switch in middle both pickups work Selector switch on bridge, bridge pickup works Selector switch on neck nothing works. I’m really not sure where to go with this now. I’d have thought if the neck was wired wrong it wouldn’t work with the selector in the middle. Picture attached for context more than diagnosis Help !! ezbass
It all points to a fault with the switch. Reverse the wiring and see if the fault moves to the other pickup. If it does, replace the switch.

Frustrating !
drlargepants
Turned out the switch wiring on one pair was reversed (the colours on the cable are different to the pdf) All positions working now, so I can get my SG back and he can do all his crazy tuning stuff again. Hurrah ! 2
