Thanks so much for your help. I'm thinking that it's only cosmetic. Probably down to my father inlaw being tight fisted and not putting the heating on. No splintering on the reverse, though rough as though the varnish a crazed slightly. Will take your advice on board and take to a tech. Appreciate your help

I am cleaning up my fender telecaster which has been in storage at my inlaws. I've notice when restringing that the neck looks weathers. The laminate seems crazed. Please see images attached. Should I be alarmed? Is it just cosmetic? Help!
