  1. Agree that Yamaha acoustics are great value for the money. I've owned one, an FG Series for over 30 yrs now. A modern equivalent Yamaha would be a safe bet imo.
  2. Hard to pick just 3, but if I had to narrow it down, my top 3 would be Paul Kossoff Michael Schenker Rory Gallagher. None of them were flashy, shred merchants, but they didn't need to be. Just great tone and feel.
  3. I've got a Yamaha FG400A, bought it in 1990. Since then I've got numerous other guitars, but the Yamaha has stayed with me. Sounds as good, if not better than when I first got it. Not an expensive guitar, about a hundred quid back then if I remember right, but I reckon Yamaha's make some great guitars for the money.
  4. I've bought from some of the main UK shops in the past, GAK, GuitarGuitar in B'ham, PMT, Gear4music, Merchant City Music ( are they still called that?) but my most recent purchases have been from TR Music in Walsall, a smaller family owned business. They are really friendly and have some decent stock, Fender, Epiphone, Marshall, Blackstar etc. Also some nice used gear. Highly recommend them if you're in the area.
