  1. Just to clarify , I'm on about the solid block fixed on the underside of the Tremolo, blocking the tremolo or clamping it to essentially make it a fixed bridge is another thing. Let's hear your thoughts on clamping it too.
  2. What's your thoughts on tremolo block upgrades for tone and sustain ? Steel, Brass, Titanium, Tungsten, Do these metal types make much difference ? I have a brass fat block at the moment and I'm thinking about reverting it back to the original nickel plated brass that I had on my Floyd Rose. It's a lot smaller but I haven't heard much change whilst using the fat block. Thoughts ? Discuss !!!
  3. Massive thanks to Taylor at 'TDM Custom Guitars' for the recent set-up, you've done a fantastic job. 🤘😃🤘

  4. It's not dissimilar to a Vester guitar I had years back, you could look them up and see what you can find. Good luck !
  5. Done, I hope I pass, I was up all night revising !!
  6. Iv'e just installed the stereo type pure tone jack into my guitar, being an ageing guitarist with constant tinnitus in both ears its hard to say if there's a tonal change or not. That being said, It probably is better, maybe a little crisper ?? the main thing I guess is that it's no worse !! Cheers Raven1313 for bring this item to my attention and thanks Dad3353 for pointing out there was a stereo type 'for just those cases' like mine.
  7. Cheers for this ! I've just ordered a stereo type jack, review to come !!!!
  8. I was intrigued by the claim to these pure tone jacks so I ordered one, unfortunately I was unable to fit this to my system due to the jack only having a tip and sleeve connection, having dare I say a non conventional wiring setup in my guitar I needed a ring connection too, this would provide a power ground which activates the system when the cable jack is inputted, without that, no sound !
  9. For years I've been playing around with different pedals both inline and using the effects return, more recently I've been trying out digital plug-ins using Amplitube. At first I was interested in comparing my Mesa amp to the digital version but have now started using the digital pedals in Amplitube instead of my pedalboard setup. To do this I had to bypass the amp and cabs on the software and thought I'd go thought the send return but can only managed to go inline, the controls on my interface seem to be affecting the sound on the crunchier channels but sounds great though the clean so ideally it needs to go though the send return. Q. Has many one else tried this ?

    Hi

Hi, Welcome to guitar chat !
  11. Loving my tone right now ! :)

  12. Today I've been playing around with Amplitube doing a kind of comparison between a digital plugin and the real thing.

I have to say this is a more neighbour friendly option !!

Had some fun mucking about with different pedals and cabs, even mic and room positions.

You can't beat the real thing for that 'I'm a guitarist feeling' but this is good fun to play about with, plus is a lot cheaper !!!

  13. Hi Mike !! I can't help you with your valuation but welcome to guitar chat anyway !!
  14. Hi, I'm Richard (Chud)

I've been playing the guitar on and off since I was 13, I'm now 49 and forever looking for better sounds and tones.

My biggest music influence over the years has been Metallica, I first heard Orion back in '87 and I had to know who was playing it and have been a massive fan of them since.

  15. I can only answer this as who I've been influenced by the most over the years and not necessarily the best guitarists, as that is a massive can of very talented worms with no answer to it !! So I have been influenced by: Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden), Joe Satriani, James Hetfield (Metallica), Gary Moore, an Honorary mention to Robbie Krieger (The Doors) I know it's more than 3, you're lucky I stopped there !!
  16. Thanks for the input, I try different strings and always go back to what I know. It's always a gamble trying something new especially when it's a ball-ache if they're crap !! I might try them on a back of the cupboard guitar sometime.
  17. Hey all, Has anyone tried Elixir strings ? If so, what's your thoughts ? Discuss !!!
  18. SSOSS, what a great album ! I first saw maiden in '90 on the No prayer tour. They kicked my ass !!!
  19. Gary Moore - Parisienne Walkways Possibly the most underrated guitarist to grace us !
  20. Hey all, Every now and then I brake the routine and try different makes of strings and gauges, I've tried Dean Markley and D'addario but always go back to a good old packet of pinks (Ernie Ball Super Slinky's). So I was wondering what strings you use ? what gauges ? and also what gauge picks ? Are string types really that important for different music genres ?
