Fine thanks, buddy. I totally get where you're coming from because I live in a ghost town too. I told you I was trying to move etc... Now you have to go to the school in person, it is very important, because apart from the formal education you may get, you want to see if you like the environment, because at the end of the day, you're going there to socialize and meet other people. If they teach many instruments, so much the better. If the school is not right next door, a little bit of travel won't harm you. Keep me posted. ps I bought a new guitar

People on a forum are scattered all over the country and even farther away. I myself would like to practice with you or gather with other people but I am nowhere near your area. Too bad. The best advice I can offer is to look for some kind of music school near you (not private lessons) where you'll find like-minded people and be able to have a group sooner or later. Hope this helps. I'm amazed by your skills, you're going the full monty... usually people buy the neck and build the rest. How can you get the right distance between the frets (as shown in the pics above)?

I am totally sold man, I love this guitar. Unfortunately I am in the market for a strat (copy) at the moment and also I prefer the sleek neck and sound of the electric guitar. Saying that, this silent Yamaha keeps coming back to my attention. Who knows... good luck by the way.

Yeah I had a feeling that would be the case. Any suggestions for a pre-wired pickguard? I am tempted to go for the Custom Shop Fat 50's but you'll never know what you get until you try. They Fat 50's sound bright and cheerful, but again, who knows...

Hi there wonderful people, as some of you may know, I am going to get a new guitar. And I would like to upgrade the electronics from day one. Guitar is a Stratocaster copy and I want 3 single coils in it. Actually in the end it is gonna be a partcaster, because I am getting a Harley Benton guitar with the view of upgrading what is necessary etc. How do I put together a custom pickguard? Where do I buy switches, pots, wires, the pickups themself, etc. Is all of this available on Thomann? I also saw they sell pre wired Custom Shop fender pickguards (eg fat 50's pickups) for 250 or something. Is it worth getting a pre-wired one or can I do better (and cheaper) on my own? Thanks, Frank

Hi everybody, I have made my mind up and I want to get a new guitar. The most important quality, for me, at this stage, is the weight, because I have learnt from experience that practicing hurts my shoulders due to the weight of the guitar etc. I like headless guitars, but I can't buy yet into the proprietary hardware they use. Ideally I am oriented towards a super light strat, that doesn't break the bank. Any suggestions? Is there any wood that is noticeably lighter than the others? They say American Basswood is light, is that true? As mentioned by others, try to make sure your set up is good before you buy something useless. You need to test the guitar with fresh strings, and lubricate nut and string trees. Also, if the guitar is new, there a possibility that the neck is adjusting to the new environment in your house. If I were you, I would give the guitar a good month before modding it. At the end of the day what you really need to learn guitar is motivation, a good guitar and a tuner. If you are smart enough and find good books you need no course, I promise. If I were you, I would keep the 1000$ with me as long as I could, for with time you'll learn what you need by yourself. Good luck and God bless you.

These things are sick, I love them. I saw them before but they're not exactly my cup of tea. Is anybody aware of something similar but meant for the electric guitar player? From a big brand like Yamaha or something? Since it is Yamaha, in my opinion you can't go wrong. Watch a few reviews on Youtube to have an idea of how they work.
