I'm another one who doesn't like gold tops. I just don't really like gold in general. I've nothing against PRSs, though. My guitar tutor has a couple and they sound great.

Sounds really good. Dad confirmed what I suspected about the lyrics not having been written by a native English speaker. It's not they are bad; one or two lines just don't sound like something a native speaker would say. There's no way I could write a song in a different language, so good job to the writer. I was into metal in my teens and can spot some influences like Iron Maiden. Great job, well done.

I wouldn't worry too much about whether a guitar has a tremolo arm or not for your first guitar (strictly speaking, it's a vibrato system, not a tremolo). Trems can cause issues with guitars staying in tune - not always, but some times. i notice that the Schecter has a rosewood fretboard and a graphite nut. Some people prefer the look of rosewood (and, if they are to believed the sound) and a graphite nut would be good for tuning as the strings are less likely to get stuck. It's all going to be down to personal preference - how the guitar feels. I've never played Schecter, but I do own two Ibanez and they are both very good quality and I like the feel of them.

You could also look at some of the Harley Benton bundles. If you want an electric guitar, you can get them with a small amp and accessories. Don't be put off by the low price. I got one of their basic models and it was excellent. The amp won't be fantastic, but it will get him going until you can afford a better one, plus it won't be too loud, so shouldn't distract everyone else in the house. As has been suggested, if you are wanting to play folk style music, like Bob Dylan or Joan Baez, you would probably want to play a steel strung acoustic guitar. Just be aware that this can be harder on your fingers than an electric guitar. Good luck.

What is your budget? I started with a Harley Benton TE-20 set that came with an amp, from Thomann. The amp was just OK. It didnsound fantastic and stopped working after a couple of years. The guitar is very good, especially considering it only costs about £68. The neck feels really nice. The finishing on the fret ends could be better, but they aren't too bad and I don't notice them when playing. The tuners do a good job. They don't feel great in operation but they work. The height adjustment screws on the bridge stick out quite a bit and dig into my hand if I have it resting on the bridge. I got a Harley Benton TE-62 after a while. It looks and feels better. The frets are finished better, the fretboard is nicer, the tuners are better and the bridge is better. I still play the TE-20 and sometimes prefer the tone of it. It cost £138.

I'm not a very good guitarist, but I saw a nice guitar that I liked, tried it and bought it. It wasn't a terribly expensive guitar (about £459 I think), but for me it was quite expensive, especially considering the guitar I already had was a £68 Harley Benton. I play both guitars. I would never get to the stage where I would live my life in such a way that I would hurt other people just to get money. If I had a big win on the lottery, I would maybe buy a nice Fender, but I don't think I would spend the crazy amounts that some people spend.

It won't make you a better player. A good player will be able to play good music on a cheap (but well set up) guitar, but a poor player won't get a good tune out of an expensive guitar. However, if you can afford it, it can be nice to have expensive things just for the sake of having them. If I had the money, I could buy a Ferrari. It won't make me a better driver, but I might enjoy driving it.

Is it Huchings or Hutchins? Hutchins are English made, from what I can see. I can't find too much about an acoustic Uno guitar, but from what I can find, I don't think there's a lot of value in it.

I'd say, at that price point, you'd be pretty lucky to get a well matched instrument.
