    Tele Tastic!

Something a bit different this week. I’ve had this Tele body hanging around for ages, so I thought I’d repurpose it. I need a small, low table for cups of coffee, etc and this seemed like an ideal solution. 4 legs and a pack of mirror screws from B&Q and we have the Tablecaster.
  2. It’s hard to find fault with the Squier VMs and CVS (I have a CV Tele), good/great quality at bargain prices. I love the look of the Jag, especially in Surf Green, but tone-wise I prefer the Jazz Master. I have a very talented guitar playing chum who has a full on, Fender Jag and loves it. He’s also recently rediscovered The Smiths and Morrissey and has been to see Johnny Marr a number times (I’m not sure if the Jag or the rediscovery came first). The Marr sig has some very useful custom features/upgrades. Enjoy your lovely looking beast.
  3. I really like the pencil one. Having worked in a primary school where you always end up with numerous short, coloured pencils, that continually break when sharpened, this seems like the perfect end for those unloved stubbies.

    Tele Tastic!

This Mesinger caught my eye the other day, it’s their current ‘guitar of the month’.

More T types than you can shake a stick at.

    A Suhr Kilmister signature.
  7. I’m a huge Tele fan, much meatier than a Strat in all the positions IMO. Every home should have one .
  8. Oh that’s ridiculous! But, as you say, silver lining.

    Nice Elwood too.
  10. That’s a nice looking superstrat. I’ve only ever played one LTD, a Viper, but it was very good as are other Korean builds I’ve played (Fender and Gretsch). I haven’t heard the STK-S4s, but the SD website says that they’re voiced to be be classic and chimey like normal single coils. https://www.seymourduncan.com/pickup/classic-stack-plus-set?__uuid_ref=5c57375048fc8%3f__uuid_ref=5c5737504900e
  11. Given that the Strat is the most ubiquitous guitar on the planet, only associating it with Knopfler, Marvin and Rodgers is to undermine its usage, but each to their own POV. It seems that your requirement is a double cutaway guitar with single coil pickups in the neck and middle positions, plus another s/c or splittable hb in the bridge. Ibanez and Yamaha are good starting points and both have affordable offerings in this format. However, if money were no object, a PRS 513 would cover every base.

    Tele Tastic!

Very nice. I’ve always liked the look of these.
  14. Completely agree. To be honest, I thought the guitar one was going to be terrible, but I was pleasantly surprised.
  15. Watched this on the BBC last night, fully expecting it to be terrible and a re-run of the usual clips/suspects. I was pleasantly surprised that it was rather good, more a journey through modern guitar tone and effects than anything else (some technique, but not much). Worth a watch IMO.
  16. Demoed here and talked about.

I saw a video of these earlier, they sound great IMO, but they’re not cheap.
  18. Top piece of info there, thanks!

    Tele Tastic!

It’s been a quiet hereabouts, so I’m going to post my current Tele again, but this time with a term system fitted.
  20. I don’t own a Katana but I’d say get the Tele, because you’ll get more joy from a guitar you’ve always wanted, rather than a new black box with knobs on. However, if an amp is what you need, also have a look at the Boss Nextone, they sound great on YT.
  21. Awesome, because P90s just are Of course Yamaha did put a P90 in some of the more upmarket versions, albeit in the neck position.

  23. $25,000 I think the whammy bar is just screwed in and flops around, willy nilly. An application of PTFE tape is a common cure, or one can go down the Fender route and drop a small spring into the arm hole.
