I’ll add John Scofield to that list. Go for it. Unless you want a traditional type jazz tone, of course. But in addition to being nearly indestructible, a good Tele is almost never out of place.

I have a TC Flashback X4 because it’s basically a much better sounding DL4. Since I’m pretty much only gigging as a bass player these days, it lives on my music room floor. Mainly for, err, playing with myself. The delay I like best, though, is my old (modded) Deluxe Memory Man. Highly impractical (large and very analog), but it has a lush texture I’ve never heard in any other pedal, and it’s just the absolute best in trippy self-oscillating silliness. It’s on indefinite loan to a friend because I’m afraid I might sell it otherwise.

I was looking for a good mid-level semi hollow so I was thinking of getting an Artcore as well. Great VFM and some really sensible design improvements... Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any models above the AS73, so my search ended with shelling out for a 1981 MIJ AS100. It’s the prettiest sounding guitar I’ve ever heard and it plays beautifully. It was also twice the amount I initially wanted to spend, so be warned.
