I’m happy enough with it as standard really - sounds really sweet and the reverb & vibrato work really well. I haven’t heard the 64 Deluxe Handwired version, would imagine that’s even better but way too rich for me.

I did consider the TM version, but in the end went for the old school option. Despite needing the occasional valve, I’m far more confident in getting help with any repairs should I need it. I don’t know anyone in my area who could fix the TM, although the reduced weight and great tone made it a close call.

I’ve had dozens of valve amps over the last few decades. In the mid 1970’s I bought a Marshall 1974 18 watt 1x12 combo which had been my main go to amp ever since , although I’m primarily a bassist so it hasn’t been hammered! Since selling it in 2021 I’ve been looking at something to replace it, and recently acquired a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb reissue. Early days yet but I think it’s going to be another keeper - superb sounding amp, with lush reverb and trem.

I own one of these, and agree with Dad - great guitars. Also original pickups are well rated, so yours may be at a slight disadvantage. The only upgrade many people like are binning the 4 way switch and push button control, and wiring as per a standard Tele. The weight can also be a factor in value, with lighter ones being more highly sought after. I’d say yours would fetch c£500 as it looks in good order, and someone may appreciate the changed pickups.

Had a fair few in my time, although now just have my Marshall 1974 combo left. 18 watts of magic, made around 1968 I believe. Any guitar sounds brill through it. Owned it for over 40 years now, so will probably see me out too. Doesn’t stop me GAS ing for something else though, maybe a bit Fender style? Would love a Deluxe reissue after trying one a while ago, sounded lush.

Love a Dano, played some earlier electric 12’s and was impressed, especially at the price point. There is a really cheap Telecaster style 12 string currently available at Gear4music , think it’s £99!! The demo film of it sounds surprisingly good too.

Had the hots for a 335 for ages. Must be see through cherry red, not that pinky red solid finish you get on some Dot models. Now here’s the tricky bit -must have a large neck profile too, no skinnies allowed. Gibson have made some Custom Shop ones, which I can't afford, and did do a Fat Neck model a while ago but not in the right red. ATB Guitars in Cheltenham currently have a 64 block marker in which is nigh on perfect, apart from the price tag. Guess I’ll just have to keep looking.

I get to travel around a fair bit, and always try to find time to check out guitar stores wherever we are. Coda in Stevenage is probably my favourite - massive stocks, good prices and nice staff. Then Andertons are always worth a visit, as is Guitar Guitar in Epsom (and other branches too. ) Always call in at GAK in Brighton as well. Worthy mentions to Dads Guitars in Southport, Frailers in Runcorn and nearer home Antones in Hull - all great independent shops that are still providing an excellent service in these days of internet competition. Speaking of which RIP to Electro Music in Doncaster, as mentioned by Skybone. One of the best guitar shops in the country, run by top staff.
