I’ve started making a couple of guitars for the UKAGB Guitar build off which is a Facebook groups version of the Great Guitar Build Off
Here’s the ‘Rotta T’ which is a an Offset Tele-ish shape it’s got a Poplar pallet top and it going to have Sapele back and neck with an Oak fretboard….
This is the ‘Daga’ which is a kind of ‘Rick crossed with a Corvette crossed with a Tele crossed with a Strat which is completely made from a pallet with
a Sapele neck and Oak fretboard
I like that, it has real charm. Given the tailpiece and the tuners it looks intended to be steel strung to me. Guessing vintage 50s or early 60s maybe?
I agree start with 10s (extra-light gauge on an acoustic) so the neck isn't shocked.
Could make a nice rural blues guitar, and quite bendy with a set of 10s on.
