So 3 1/2 years later I finally got around to sorting the resistors. I bought replacements for every one of them. But only replaced the ones on the preamp board before giving it a test. It no longer sounds like frying bacon when it's warm. But it has lost a bit of character. I'll go through and test the resistors I removed and but any still in spec back in.
