I tried doing the fake branding but TBH it looked cheap and tacky and all together rather S**t so I decided against it and went for this fimish instead, Here's a quick mockup........

It should be fine, I would use fine sandpaper rather than any chemical stripper as than can leave stains. If there are any small marks, methylated spirit is good for removing them.1 point
