  2. Yeah that happens to be my favourite of the three. The Coil - Tapping Humbucker push pull facility is exceptional.. Saying that All three give my mates very expensive original Gibson’s a fookin good run for the money. I also love the extra cutaway design so people like me with short stubby fingers can get right down and bend strings without having to go to hospital after Probably the best £169 I’ve spent this year. I bought it a lovely case because it deserved it. I still might buy a white vintage version to complete the set.

  3. @Jazz Club have you been keeping Thomann in business all on your own? Some cool purchases there. I particularly like this one

  5. Yes they are both Harley Benton guitars. I’ve bought a few HB guitars during lockdown after a friend recommended them to me and after watching hours of YouTube videos on various models. The build quality and finish on everyone I’ve bought is outstanding and they all sound great and play really well. A couple just needed a few small adjustments and change of strings but most are great straight out the box and amazing value for money.

  6. I only started playing again because my son wanted an electric guitar and thought great something we can do in lockdown together. We have the same Marshall amplifiers and face time each other on iPads both amps you can play backing tracks through to play along with. Its been great fun even though my left hand hurts like hell most of the time.

  7. This is me thinking with my fingers as I type but perhaps we need to augment and amend the content a bit? We’ve been relying on the content growing organically and, for all the reasons stated, it just isn’t happening. Maybe it’s time to start pushing content onto the site to seed it (and the search engines) with content so that non-BCers start seeing GC in search results? I think that within the overall guitar-playing community, there’s a distinct sub-group of learners. A much bigger group, and on a much longer journey, than those on BC and, if my experience was anything to go by, very intimidated by those who can play. So perhaps the site needs a dedicated (and very visible) learner section where newcomers to guitar can have a “safe space” to ask dumb questions, get novice-specific advice? Reviews of all the tuition sites out there, for example. Sites like Guitarbots. Who’s used them? Are they any good? Within the general site, gear reviews - and, again, reviews of YT review sites. Playing and composition videos (especially while we’re all locked away). I know the site has the potential for all of this but maybe it needs a group of people to submit the posts and, most importantly for the search engines, start discussing them? It will feel artificial at first but that will change as the audience grows..... Sorry, this turned out to be a bit more of a ramble than I anticipated but, hopefully, within all this blather there are one or two valid thoughts. I think I need a lie down now.
