  1. I saw the Vox offerings but they all seem to be designed for floor use rather than sitting on a desk, i was really hoping for something that was desk orientated so that is can sit next to my pc off the floor (this also keeps it away from the inquisitive fingers of my 3 year old son) i will keep an eye on eBay though, if it is cheap enough then i guess one of the smaller ones could sit on the desk. i have seen some of the Joyo offerings, one of the small pedal preamps might be an option as an always-on box. thanks for the reply @EdwardMarlowe. 2. It’s a well known fact that I’m a DiMarzio fanboy. I’ve use SDs in the past but, whilst they’re good and an upgrade from generic, manufacturer fitted, I’ve mostly been underwhelmed, whereas DiMarzios have always given me that stupid, new tone grin. This is probably down to me choosing the wrong SD pickups for my needs, which I can only put down to the so so customer service I’ve received from SD. On the other hand, I’ve had nothing but stellar service from DiMarzio, no query is too small for them it seems, I’ve even had Steve Blucher answer my emails in the past and he’s worked directly with Satch and Vai to name just 2. So, in short, have a look around their website and then drop them a line with your tonal requirements to see if what you’ve picked out matches your actual needs.

  3. Hey all, a bassist here, from Basschat, who's dabbling in a bit of guitar. Been playing bass since I was a kid, and only recently decided to get off my butt and learn the six string variety. Lets say its work in progress..
