The question popped into to my head as I was once advise against buying a Bass VI to adapt to a Baritone, because the pickups are (unsurprisingly) tuned for bass frequencies, so I would have struggled to get the sound I was after. So I assumed that Baris probably used "regular" guitar pickups, but then started to wonder whether there was any market for a pickup that favoured that "in-between" range!

  2. In terms of lyrics, context is everything. eg. in the USA they refer to University as 'school', so an American band singing about waiting for a girl after school, isn't necessarily as bad as it sounds. Although it probably is

  3. The thing about AC/DC (and to a similar extent Status Quo) is that there are so many bands doing bad cover versions. Reason being, on first listen the songs do sound simple. But take a closer listen and they are doing all kinds of interesting stuff. Malcolm especially, is always using different inversions, and different octaves, which usually get missed when other people play them.
